Yoga (1991) by Mark di Suvero

In partnership with Storm King Art Center and the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, Brooklyn Bridge Park is thrilled to announce the installation at Pier 1 of Mark di Suvero’s Yoga (1991), a monumental kinetic steel sculpture.

Yoga represents the first initiative in an anticipated ongoing arts program at the park. The roughly thirty-foot-tall composition is sited on Bridge View Lawn at Pier 1, overlooking the East River. The sculpture creates changing shadows and perspectives as the I-beam pivots with the wind and “points” to the harbor, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Governors Island, and beyond. Visit Pier 1 to experience this wonderful addition to the park.  Read the press release here.
