Pier 5 will feature three outdoor multi-purpose recreation fields to play soccer, lacrosse, cricket, rugby, football, field hockey or softball. These artificial turf fields will be available for play day and night. Pier 5’s perimeter will provide a continuous waterfront esplanade for strollers, river viewers, sports spectators, and people who want to fish.
On the landside of Pier 5, a Picnic Peninsula that is accessible from the main park promenade will include banquet-length picnic tables that can accommodate large and small groups, barbecues, a concession, and children’s play equipment.
