Brooklyn Bridge Plaza
Located beneath the majestic span of the Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge Plaza is a flexible paved space that forms the knuckle between the portions of the park north of the Brooklyn Bridge and those to the south on the repurposed piers. Here the shoreline curves dramatically, enhancing views to the East River and Lower Manhattan.
Currently, this space is used on a temporary basis for a number of activities before it will be reconstructed with additional amenities in keeping with the overall Brooklyn Bridge Park design. Brooklyn Bridge Plaza has hosted the Brooklyn Flea as well as annual events in celebration of Harbor Day. Future seasonal programming might include a temporary winter ice rink, a farmer's market, and art installations.
