Park Greenway Now Open!

During park construction visitors can use an interim bike path that connects Piers 1 and 6! The path has a two-way bike lane and a walkway for pedestrians. The path is open consistent with regular park hours (6am - 1am), however the portion between Montague Street Extension and Joralemon Street will close from dusk to dawn until lighting can be installed.

The path links the park's Greenway on Pier 1 to an interim path that runs through the site to Joralemon Street. The path was made possible through the parnership, investment and enthusiastic collaboration of the NYC Department of Transportation.

Biking to the Park

Bike routes and directions can be mapped using Ride the City on the DOT's Bike Maps page. To reach the northern portion of the park (Pier 1, Fulton Ferry Landing) type "Brooklyn Bridge Park" as your destination.  To reach Pier 6, type "Atlantic Avenue & Furman Street" as your destination.

Things to Know

  • Bike racks are located throughout the park.  Do not lock your bike to park fences or railings.
  • Currently there are no bicycle rental facilities in the park, but as construction progresses, locations will be considered for this amenity.
